The old Suffolk dialect is more than just a few words, it is a full language. There is also much more to these words than to simply add them into a sentence. The preservation of the language, in these modern times, helps to keep the old words alive. There are nuances to the speech, its rhythm, and the uses and meanings of the words. Some words can be used together. Others when used in an authentic way would not be spoken alongside one another. Some words would be used for one meaning in a sentence, yet old Suffolk vocal etiquette would mean those words may not be used for that instance at certain times. Over time I will be adding these nuances to this dictionary page to help clarify, and most importantly make sure the true authentic voice and language of old Suffolk is recorded correctly for future generations.
